I'm Trying.....

Our country is being hijacked and taken to a place that the majority of Americans do not wish it to be taken. This serves as the official description of kidnapping and is relegating my (our) descendants to an even more dangerous world due to the many actions of this current administration. I have been vocal about my opposition, I have contacted my congressional representatives and senators (I purposely do not capitalize their positions and titles as that would denote respect, which I do not have for these minions of crime who engage in the politics of personal gain) to object to the many steps being taken to throw our once great country over the cliff of eventual ruin.

I have been open about my objections to the economic, defense and international policies of the current administration. I am even more open about my commitment to the founding principles and founding principals of our great nation. I do not believe that my voice is being heard without being marginalized as a 'tea-bagger', a 'rightie' and a 'Republican kool-aid drinker'. It is not enough to raise objection, to find fault and to point out errors. I feel we must not only object through association and organization but also bear a responsibility to work from within the confines placed by even a deaf administration. Therefore I have just contacted www.whitehouse.gov/contact and attempted to get my concerns through to our 44th President (I do capitalize this title as a sign of respect to the position to which I have sworn to follow into the breach, I sincerely hope that he rises to earn this respect, it is his to earn or burn). I encourage everyone to take up your right and responsibility to define through direct input, what is and isn't appropriate behavior by our country, our administration and our President. To wit, I have sent the following message to President Obama:

"I strongly object to the Attorney General's decision to provide Khalid Sheik Mohammad and others of his ilk, with constitutional rights which are specifically reserved for citizens of the United States of America. Such 'ground-breaking' positions as Atty. Gen. Holder is taking, serve to belittle the rights we enjoy, raise the hopes of our enemies and provide protections never before given on the battlefield, much to the delight of those who wish us harm. We cannot afford, nor should we, to supply Miranda rights and legal counsel to every enemy combatant. You have the responsibility to intervene on the better half of reason and logic. Please do so."

After all, the Attorney General is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the President. He can and should be removed from appointment if he can not carry on the responsibilities of his office with reason and in-line with the wishes of his President.

I intend to define and provide other reasonable request(s) for appropriate behavior by our President and his administration. It is evident to me that he is floundering to understand his role and his administration's responsibilities, as evidenced by the lack of forethought in appointment and unwarranted dependence upon the neophyte(s) within his staff. Clear communication of morals, logic and expectations may have an impact and may make a difference. I look back upon my experience as a manager of others for over 24 years and know that an employee has almost no chance of meeting expectations if these are not clearly communicated to them. Make no mistake, the President is an employee of every one of us.

Al Gore's Whim Uncovered

As was posted elsewhere within the observations of these continuing AGW ( Anthropogenic Global Warming: Al Gore's Wim) and British Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University email scandal:
"If anyone takes a serious look at this problem, these scientists have caused countries to spend enormous amounts of money, fighting something that hasn’t been proven. The House Democrats have passed a Cap and Trade Bill, all based on this flawed science, that could cost trillions of dollars and numerous jobs. For better or worse, GE has invested billions of dollars trying to gain favor with the environmental zealots, lobbying Congress to outlaw the incandescent light bulb, forcing television manufacturers to make their Large Screen Televisions more energy efficient. Congress has not allowed us to become energy independent because it would require drilling for oil and we’re committed to lowering our carbon emissions, because of this flawed science.
Personally, I believe this lawsuit, and many others, is necessary to help stop the people that spread these skewed statistics for a political agenda. I’m sure that same liberal philosophy, that brought about this scientific malpractice, is also being done in the area of health care legislation, etc. It appears that the liberal ideal of doing what it takes to win, is at play in many things. I hope that the news organizations and law enforcement take the bull by the horns here and bring out the truth about what happened. I’m sure the AGW crowd, in the U.S., is as guilty as those in the U.K."

Those of us who have been skeptical for many years of AGW have a tendency to be smug as it all unfolds here. However, we need to be outraged. We (the world) have been duped; fortunes have been made for many and stripped from others, careers have been created for some and poverty has been foisted upon many, Taxes have been and are continuing to be levied while phony 'carbon offsets' are lining the pockets of the perpetrators. Some need to be made accountable else the ploy will be successful and evolved into the next global 'scheme and scare'. It should be interesting to watch as the pious and arrogant AGW sycophants who have smeared and soiled those who have tried to apply real logic, attempt to position themselves as bystanders merely following someone else's lead, victim's themselves. Bullshit!

Shamefully the Copenhagen 'Event' (The United Nation's Copenhagen climate summit) is still continuing to unfold in front of us on December 7th (another Day of Infamy in American History; how fitting...). All of the world's AGW proponents and instigators are meeting in Copenhagen in just a couple of weeks to attempt to put a death grip on a global tax and global control to further line their pockets and careers for the future. Sure enough, our 44th President, BHO, the great American Apologist is attending himself with plans to jump on board the Al Gore Express and commit the US to even deeper participation in this farce! Even as the sham is being outted!!!!

"Climategate" -- Forget the Emails: What Will the Hacked Documents Tell Us?

Last week thousands of emails and documents were hacked from the British Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia. The emails revealed a lot of scientific nastiness and some efforts to suppress climate research with which CRU leaders disagreed.

But I've been wondering what insights about how climate data is put together by CRU researchers the hacked documents and models might hold? I assume that climate catastrophe skeptics are analyzing the CRU documents now. In one very preliminary analysis, British statistician William Briggs is not impressed by the CRU climatologists' statistical acumen:

How do we know the temperature?

We have no direct observations of temperature—neither at the Earth’s surface or in the atmosphere—for the vast majority of history. So how can we know what the temperature used to be in the absence of actual measurements?

We can’t. We can only guess.

That’s right, all those squiggly-line pictures of temperature you see from before roughly 1900 are reconstructions; the lines are what is spit out of statistical models. They are therefore merely guesses. Even stronger, we have no way to know exactly how good these reconstructions are. If we did, then, obviously, we would know the actual temperatures, because the only way to know the actual model error is to compare the model’s predictions against the real data (which we don’t know).

To emphasize: the actual—as opposed to theoretical model—error is unknown. But we must try and estimate this error—it is of utmost importance—otherwise we cannot make decisions about the reconstructions....

CRU document

One example from something called a “SOAP-D-15-berlin-d15-jj” document. A non-native English speaker shows a plot of various proxy reconstructions from which he wanted to “reconstruct millennial [Northern Hemisphere] temperatures.” He said, “These attempts did not show, however, converge towards a unique millennial history, as shown in Fig. 1. Note that the proxy series have already undergone a linear transformation towards a best estimate to the CRU data (which makes them look more similar, cf. Briffa and Osborn, 2002).”

In other words, direct effort was made to finagle the various reconstructions so that they agreed with preconceptions. Those efforts failed. It’s like being hit in the head with a hockey stick.

"Today, the Competitive Enterprise Institute filed three Notices of Intent to File Suit against NASA and its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), for those bodies’ refusal — for nearly three years — to provide documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
The information sought is directly relevant to the exploding “Climategate” scandal revealing document destruction, coordinated efforts in the U.S. and UK to avoid complying with both countries’ freedom of information laws, and apparent and widespread intent to defraud at the highest levels of international climate science bodies. Numerous informed commenters had alleged such behavior for years, all of which appears to be affirmed by leaked emails, computer code, and other data from the Climatic Research Unit of the UK’s East Anglia University.

All of that material, and that sought for years by CEI, goes to the heart of the scientific claims and campaign underpinning the Kyoto Protocol, its planned successor treaty, “cap-and-trade” legislation, and the EPA’s threatened regulatory campaign to impose similar measures through the back door.

CEI sought the following documents, among others. NASA’s failure to provide them within thirty days will prompt CEI to file suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia: -Internal discussions about NASA’s quiet correction of its false historical U.S. temperature records after two Canadian researchers discovered a key statistical error, specifically: discussion about whether and why to correct certain records, how to do so, the impact, or wisdom, or potential (or real) fallout there from or reaction to doing so (requested August 2007).– Internal discussions relating to the email sent to James Hansen and/or Reto A. Ruedy from a Stephen (Steve) McIntyre calling their attention to the errors in NASA/GISS online temperature data (August 2007). – Those relating to the content, importance, or propriety of workday-hour posts or entries by GISS/NASA employee Gavin A. Schmidt on the weblog or “blog” RealClimate, which is owned by the advocacy Environmental Media Services and was started as an effort to defend the debunked “Hockey Stick” that is so central to the CRU files. RealClimate.org is implicated in the leaked files and expressly offered as a tool to be used “in any way you think would be helpful” to a certain advocacy campaign, including an assertion of Schmidt’s active involvement in, e.g., delaying and/or screening out unhelpful input by “skeptics” attempting to comment on claims made on the website. This, and the related political activism engaged in, are inappropriate behavior for a taxpayer-funded employee, particularly on taxpayer time. These documents were requested in January 2007 and NASA/GISS have refused to date to comply with their legal obligation to produce responsive documents."


This BS is continuing forward as if the facts are not being uncovered daily! I'm sure that the great AGW efort of the past 15 years has to be culminated in this Global event as a wave crashes on the shore. There is too much momentum to stop it happening but they can certainly be muted in shame if the World looks on at laughs at them. They are effectively crying "the world is flat" in front of the returning Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria.....! We have seen the New World.

The Art of the Deal...

Now it is all coming clear (harumph!) as clear as they want it to be..'Transparency in government' as a tag line to gain popular support during the election season, followed by a Senate Finance Committee vote along party lines to insure that the Health-care bill is NOT posted in full for the public (or the voting body of the Senate) to see prior to the floor vote! Why? well as our ever enduring traitor from 1970 Senator John "I'm a hero" Kerry puts it " Let's be honest about it, most people don't read the legislative language." He doesn't want to confuse us with the legalese! (Oh thank you Johnny!) Do you mind if the senators who are supposed to vote on it get to see the 'legalese'?
They want to post the 250+ pages of the 'strawman' framework that their 'staffers' will fill out with the actual verbage that will be enacted and will come in at about 1200 pages. We don't need to see the result of these non-elected (and non-oversight) staff who are the biggest targets of the 'lobbyists', do we?
'Lobbyists' another dirty-word slurred and sneered at in election season to gain support from the mindless masses that are all too willing to believe that the big bad Republicans all pander to these (say this with a sneer on your face and great distaste) "lllobby-yists' and that the new dems with 'change' in their heart will step in and unleave the strangle-hold that these (get ready, here we go again) 'llobby-yists' have had on the Republicans for decades. My, I'm breathless from the derring-do that the Change-artists are going to perform....
Did you catch the senate review of the Senate Finance Committee goings on for Wednesday night (the 23rd of September)? Senator nelson, D-Florida told reporters that night that he hoped to sweeten Medicare prescription drug benefits, contrary to the direction that the Finance Committee was moving, and lay off these added costs onto the pharmaceutical industry (never mind the fact that these will just appear in price increases to the consumer, this gets even better!). This Nelson proposed change has everyone in the administration and the dems on the Finance Committee up in arms since it will (get this...) violate an agreement that the Obama Administration and Senator Baucus had struck MONTHS AGO with the Drug Companies! WAIT A MINUTE!

That sounds mysteriously like a...BACK ROOM DEAL cut with (say it loud and say it proud..) 'lllobby-yists'; lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Let's cut to the chase here: campaign slogans=0 and Congress as usual=2....

Two major points used to drive a wedge between the two parties, differentiate their actions, highlight the 'New Deal' if only we elect President BOH and exile the big bad Business lobby! Net-Net; No to Transparency and Yes to Lobbyists. my-my where has this last 12 months gone; America-bashing; apologizing to our detractors; TARP I,II, III?; didn't post the stimulus bill; aren't going to post the full H/C bill; took over the auto-industry; gave it to the Unions (who had no claim to it) while ripping off the creditors/investors, (who did have a claim to it); firing private company CEO's and installing Czars; ramming a H/C reform bill through when no one wants it; spending inordinate amount of time pandering to the Lettermans and talk shows; Not meeting with our Allies (Great Britain) buddying up to our sworn enemies (Iran and Venezuela); neutering our remote allies (Poland and Czech Republic) and making every concession to Russia.

How can we be so out of sync?

I sat recently in a doctor's waiting room, I had a total of about 5 minutes to wait for my appointment that I showed up 15 minutes early for. During that time I watched a mother and her 4 year old daughter sign-in right in front of me and wait also for about the same 5 minutes. During that 5 minutes the 4 year old proceeded to pull every magazine out of the racks (all 3 of them), stand in front of the entry door for several minutes so that other patients exiting had to stand and wait for her to move so that they could exit, mulitple times. Each of these instances was met with a resigned sigh from the mom only after realizing that I was watching, prior to that there was not even the least attempt to stop the magazine tirade or request that the little girl stand anywhere else in the spacious waiting room except in front of the door. Finally the little girl decided that she wanted to go through the waiting room door to the patient rooms and walked up to the door, opened it (looking back to see if mom would say anything), stepped through while holding the door (again looking at mom who finally said 'no-no honey) she then walked in and closed the door with the mother raisng her voice finally to say "you won't get your lollipop for being a good girl if you don't come back here". The daughter never came back knowing that she wouldn't be refused a lolliopop by this lady and the mom, after looking at me like 'what can ya do?' stepped through the door also and spent nearly a whole minute coaxing the little girl back through the door.

I detail this incident because it is a common one that I see every day in America for several years now. While sitting in that waiting room I was able to reflect on when was the last time I heard a modern mother be stern with their child in public. I would have to go back many years maybe longer than a decade, SOMETHING HAPPENED. I look around for other connections to this modern world and find that I am completely out of synchronization with the norms of today. Frankly after reviewing these out-of-sync areas I am not worried about being out of touch with the drifting of the values and actions but saddened for the current norms and the obviously 'doomed to further drift' next generations.

Dr. Benjamin Spock wrote the baby book of the 60' and 70's that was laughed at and guffawed about by the mainstream parents of that time. It espoused negotiating with the child and never saying 'no' and replacing bad behavior with good behavior and never 'embarrassing the child' by spanking in public or applying pressure to perform as related to others. The parents of that time thought, how radical and this is surely going to be his last book. We didn't really count upon the progressive and liberal (mainly non-child bearing) academia to use it as a rallying point to attempt to move the norms in America.

Today you are in the minority if you do not have a 'my child was on the honor roll at everyday elementary' sticker on your car...because every one has one! Today you are demonized if you spank your child for breaking the rules you laid out for the child...because most don't make rules as we see in doctor's waiting room! Today you are demonized if you chastise your child for bad behavior because you are expected to take away the knife he picked up to play with and replace it with a ball....don't scold!

It's no wonder our children don't know what appropriate expectations are in life, they've never been shown any! It's no wonder our young adults don't understand why they cannot have everything they've ever wanted...they've always gotten it before! It's no wonder that so many of today's youth are constantly dis-obeying laws and violating other's rights...they've never been given a set of rules that they had to live by!

You take away the verbal and physical punishments then you take away the ability to grasp 'rules'. Children need rules, they need to know that there is an authority figure that they can respect and aspire to be as they grow up. Take away unique rewards for true excellence replaced them with lowered expectations and what do you have? The dumbing down of America! Was that the real goal of America's educators those many decades ago?

I travel quite frequently around the world and I must say that in every asian country there is still that respect and rules and reward and punishment system that causes people to excel and understand 'just desserts'. In most countries in Europe except the ones that our current liberal and progressives look to for guidance (read France and England) the familial unit is still very strong and still has the needed morals and norms to cause children to aspire to greatness not aspire to mediocrity.

I'm saddened, I'm out of sync, I'm resigned; that the path we are on in America is truly insuring the cratering of the greatest republic the world has seen. It's like sports, if all you do is play mediocre teams all will become mediocre teams. If all you do is seek to not punish, seek to not embarrass, seek to not .........then you will NOT.

I have to say in closing this post, I was ecstatic to hear the one nurse say to the other nurse in the doctor's office that day "I don't think we have anymore lollipops, do we?"

I miss ........

Keep these diametrically opposed terms in mind as we all watch the 'Change we can believe in' become a reality. For many the word 'Change' which they heartily embraced pre-inauguration, meant something other than what is unfolding before us. For some it is exactly what they wished; for many it is exactly what they feared.

Does "Give me liberty or give me death..." sit in alignment with or juxtaposition to; 'Give me tyranny or give me life...'? Does Hitler's Youth Movement remind you of Americorps or Acorn? Or both....?

When you tell people what to do and how to do it; what they should value and what others should accept; how to spend their money and their leisure time; what cars to buy and how much to eat; how much they can make and how long they get to live...Have you just imposed liberty or tyranny or Change we can believe in?

This should not be too confusing for us today as left is right; up is down; Academia teaches aesthetics not fundamentals; it's not politically correct to call it as you see it; it is far better to invent terms to mean what can be accepted not what is true. The 2nd Amendment didn't guarantee us the right to bear arms, just to be victims; freedom of speech is only free if you have a social conscious which over-rides reason; one man-one vote is only true if you aren't registered by Acorn; a murderer didn't kill that person he killed if he wasn't appropriately given the right 'speech' before he confessed and the Judicial arm of government wasn't created to uphold the rights given us in our constitution but to change them and revoke them.

We fled the European continent to create a new country that was not bound by the inequities and base unfairness of that part of the world, now our own reversal of truths drives us to desire to recreate them here. The rich are the only ones that can attain legislative status here and supposedly make decisions in the masses' best interest all the while gaining more wealth and spreading the 'gap' wider. The land of opportunity today means the opportunity to control from above. Only a power-broker (former VP) could create a new reality that convinces masses that the world is warming during the longest cooling period earth has seen over the past hundred years; while he increases his personal wealth far beyond 10 fold as he flies his ostentatious jet around the globe hustling carbon offset credits to the financial benefit of his commercial enterprise initiated by him when he was shocked by the willingness of the unreasonable social consciences within our left to willingly throw money in that illogical direction.

I'm in awe Al, you the man!

Run is done, gone the sun...

3100 miles as tailgunner on platoon 6 of 7. Between 300 and 800 bikes in front of me as I helped herd 'cats' across the country. The participants all started out anxious, the repeat 'offenders' fell into the familiar accepted roles and the newbies (FNG's) tried to find their comfort zones. Interesting to watch and experience these searches for the individual comfort zone(s). Some FNG's listen intently, some FNG's just don't listen. Some FNG's talk intently, some FNG's would rather argue than assimilate. Some FNG's just know better than any and every one that has gone before. Group dynamics. They'll be old hands at this by Run's end and even older hands by next year's Run.

We are all Brothers, Brother-Vets, Brother-bikers, Brother-patriots, Brother-Americans, etc. However to each his own, his own method of accepting the mission (and don't get this wrong, this is a mission!)his own way of dealing with being part of something bigger, his own desire to eke out something just his from the Run, his own realization that the Brothers will not let him distract from the message, the mission, the cause.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All- some never came home, some are still unaccounted for-some haunt some of us from behind The Wall. Should have been me....could have been me....glad it wasn't me....wish I knew you better....wish I didn't know you so well....If only I had....I'm glad I didn't....I'm so sorry that you're not here with us, but you are ever here with us.

Excerpt of Wish's Writings

Reviewing what he knew and bashing that together with what the coach had hinted at, caused him a lot of concern. ‘Not private, not corporate’ coach had said, that implied government. While informative, it was not specific and could mean anything from local law enforcement to IRS to NSA and a whole lot of alphabet soup in between. The ‘not a nice guy’ comment regarding the target coupled with the ‘times we live in’ statement implied terrorism especially when taking into account the middle eastern name of the target.

Sure, that is racial profiling, but how can you ignore the realities of the situation just to be politically correct? Logic and reason have no social conscious. Bottom-line, when you’re in the barnyard collecting eggs, look under the chickens not the cows.

Well I won’t know what I’ve got until I get my feet wet, thought Mason. Ripping the printout of Rafi Arunian’s profile off of the printer, Mason grabbed the truck keys and his overnight backpack from the table by the entryway. He made his way to the parking lot, swinging by his mailbox along the way, grabbing the handful of mail and jogging to his pickup truck.

Coach doesn’t know class when he sees it, thought Mason, this ‘63 is a classic. He threw his backpack into the bed of the truck, grimacing as he heard a scraping sound, probably his electric razor within the pack, scraping on the bed of the pickup as it slid to a stop. He had been planning on getting a drop in bed liner to prevent any further damage to the newly rejuvenated classic 1963 Chevy pickup.

He needed to start keeping him a ‘to-do list,’ things were starting to pile up on him. He decided to start one tomorrow.
